Dr Zahid Hussain Associate Professor

Biography
Dr Zahid Hussain joined the school full time in 2002 and has taught at all levels since including executive education, MBA, DL etc. He possess tremendous amount of academic and management experience and possess many other suitable qualifications. He teaches with passion, rigour and meticulousness. He can undertake wider multidisciplinary research within the university that has better impact, hence meeting the university’s pledge to making knowledge work. He is a member of HEA and several other professional bodies (Member of HEA, BCS, BAM, UKAIS). He has won several awards in distinguished teaching and is helping to deliver the faculty vision of enhancing levels of student satisfaction. This will help to achieve the faculty objective of excelling teaching. He is external examiner to University of West London and Imperial College London and in the past was external to Aston, Open University and University of East London. His research is usually applied and industry based. Several of his recent articles have been ‘best read’ and/or ‘nominated as best papers’ by academics. However, Zahid has and continues to supervise world class research of highest merit involving many well-known organisations, such as NATO, SAP, Mercedes, Emirates Airline, British Telecom, Mauritius Government, Asda, PACE, BBC, Airbus UK, NHS and many more including many SMEs. He is a permanent speaker/presenter on learning and improvement topics at the local community radio – MACS.
Dr Jurgita Malinauskaite Reader

Biography
She is an Academic Reader at Brunel Law School (BLS) working for the University since January 2008. Before committing herself to academia, she served as a competition lawyer at the Competition Council of Lithuania. She is also the Athena SWAN Lead for BLS and the Aurora Champion for BUL. She has recently successfully led our department to achieve an Athena SWAN Bronze Award, becoming the first non-STEMM BUL department to receive this award. She was also the Associate Dean for Equality and Diversity (CBASS) 2015-2018. Her research expertise lies in competition law, energy law, and waste law. She is the author of numerous journal articles as well as two monographs: Merger Control in Post-Communist Countries, Routledge, 2010; and Harmonisation of EU Competition Law Enforcement, Springer, 2019. My current focus is on interdisciplinary research. She is also a Co-I of two Horizon 2020 projects: i) ETEKINA (heat pipE TECHnologies for INdustrial Applications, further information on: https://www.etekina.eu 2017-2021; and InComEss (Innovative Polymer-Based Composite Systems for High-Efficient Energy Scavenging and Storage) 2020-2024.
Dr Stelios Andreadakis Senior Lecturer

Biography
Dr Stelios Andreadakis is a Senior Lecturer in Corporate and Financial Law and Director of Postgraduate Programmes. Prior to joining Brunel, he was a Lecturer and LLM Director at the University of Leicester and a Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University. He holds a PhD and an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Leicester and an undergraduate Law degree from the Law School of the University of Athens, Greece. Dr Andreadakis’ research interests are in the areas of Corporate Law and EU Law. He is particularly interested in corporate governance, exploring aspects of regulation of companies, corporate theories, the operation of financial markets and the role of scandals in the introduction of new legislation. His current work focuses on the role of whistle-blowers in modern corporate governance and he is conducting empirical research in the US, Japan and Europe. A monograph will be published by Edward Elgar with the findings of the research project and his recommendations as to the role of corporate culture in the strengthening of whistleblower protection worldwide. Dr Andreadakis is also working on a British Academy-funded project on the accession of the EU to the European Convention on Human Rights. The project is entitled ‘Reflections on the Architecture of the European Union after the Treaty of Lisbon: The European Approach to Fundamental Rights’, which reflects on a number of interviews with policy makers of the EU and the Council of Europe as well as Judges of the Court of Justice of the EU and the European Court of Human Rights. Dr Andreadakis was invited to make a contribution as an expert to a public Hearing organised by the Committee on Constitutional Affairs of the European Parliament in April 2016 in Brussels. A monograph, co-authored with Dr Sonia Morano-Foadi was published in 2018 by Springer, exploring the process of European integration, the role of the judiciary and policy-makers as well as the future of human rights protection in the EU.
